After much deliberation, many many hard choices today I finally made the choice.
And what a good selection I got.
I was going to make the joke that I sold the baby for them but didn’t think that would go down well.

“The” wife sounds like you’re referring to furniture, instead of “my” wife. No offense, as I’m sure you mean none either.

Id be cool with being called “the wife”. It beats being called “my old lady”. Lol
My granmother used to call my grandpa “himself when she was annoyed with him. “Himself wants his tea warmed.

Oh god I agree I would hate to think that way of “the old lady” or the “old ball and chain” that’s no good.
